Since Thanksgiving is about giving thanks and sharing with others, you may want to consider making or buying a Thanksgiving Day gift.
If you want to present a token of your appreciation to the family member who is going to host Thanksgiving this year, then how about creating something that can be shared at dinner? Make something edible and perhaps start a new Thanksgiving Day tradition.
A Thanksgiving gift can also be in the form of a fruit basket, and perhaps the more traditional Thanksgiving food of apples and oranges would be in order. You could always add packets of spiced cider so that the oranges can be used as a garnish or caramel in which to dip the apples.
If you want something a little more unique, perhaps creating a new family Thanksgiving Day tradition, then fill a fruit basket with more exotic fruits, like papaya, figs and kiwi, or anything similar.
Of course Thanksgiving gifts do not have to be edible to be appreciated; you can create something from your own garden that makes it even more special. Have you been growing pumpkins or squash in anticipation of the big day?
Then start a Thanksgiving Day tradition by creating a special centerpiece from your vegetable garden. Or, flowers are always a great idea; again, something from your garden would be fantastic.
Even if you do not have a garden, you can create some great centerpieces by visiting your local florist or farmers market to pick out some special items indicative of the season.
